Head Coach: Chico Furtado
Assistant Coaches: Rhianne Omori, Aris Perez, Jordyn Perez, Christie Wong
Veteran Coach Chico Furtado leads his Spartans this year with returning First Team All-State player in Pua Herrington leading the charge. Herrington, a 5’10 senior signed with Utah Tech University led the Spartans in scoring last year with 21 PPG in ILH league play. She will look to carry that in her final season wearing the maroon and gold.
The Spartans got two crucial transfer guards in senior Haikela Hiraishi from Konawaena and junior Bella Trias-Ruiz from King’s High School in Shoreline, Washington. Both players will help provide scoring help to Herrington and space the floor with their deep range shooting. Hiraishi brings state tournament pedigree as she has reach the tournament before with her former school.
Senior Zoe Silva, will look to control the paint as other senior transfer Taylor Schnitzer would’ve provided must needed size and depth, but unfortunately tore her ACL a few weeks before the season started. Silva is a strong and physical forward that will command the paint with her inside scoring moves and rebounding ability.
Seniors Skylyn Moore and Caleigh Kaio will hope to add veteran leadership as they were apart of the 2023-24 D2 Hawaii State Championship team. Moore can score the ball in bunches and Kaio will be another body battling down low.
The Spartans will be highly ranked and contending for a ILH and State Championship this year.
